  • Segment 1 and Behind-the-Wheel

    Segment 1 is where it all begins. This course typically runs 4 to 6 weeks long. During this course, you, your son, or your daughter will be exposed to a minimum of 24 hours in the classroom learning the rules of the road. On top of that, you will be given the state-mandated written exam, the state-mandated 6 hours of drive time instruction, and a minimum of 4 hours of observation time. Upon completion of this course, a Segment 1 certificate will be earned. The Segment 1 certificate is then taken to the Secretary of State to receive their Level 1 License/Permit.
