About our driving school

My name is Andrew Blair. I was born and raised here in Branch county and I am resident of Quincy. I'm also a Father of one and a Bonus Father to a few others. 

I have had an interesting journey in life that included: being raised by two deaf parents, served 9 years on the Quincy Fire Department, and had a 20+ year career working on cars and trucks as a licensed ASE Master Technician. For the past 17 years and counting, I have been the Automotive instructor at the Branch Area Careers Center. And as if that wasn't enough.....I'm the owner and one of the instructors here at Blair's School of Driving.

My passion is in helping people and I have found true joy at helping people gain their freedom by learning how to drive and earning their driver's license. Integrity and safety is my number one goal here at BSOD; and rest assured, you/your son/your daughter will receive the one on one training that one would deserve. 

Family--

Proud Father of 3 great young adults; Macy, Kailey, and Brennen. Macy is currently a junior Psychology Major at Trine University. Kailey is a sophomore Nursing student at Glen Oaks CC. Brennen graduates from Quincy High School this year. He will attend Trine University in the Fall and major in Electrical Engineering. 

Myself--

Graduated from Quincy High School and attended both Tri-State University and Spring Arbor University. I hold a Master's Degree in Education with a Minor in Health Education. I also have a Coaching Endorsement and have been Coaching almost all my life. 

Currently I live in Colon and I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend Jen listening to music, going to the casino, and having bonfires. 

Blair's School of Driving--

I enjoy working with the students at Blair's School of Driving. The team at BSOD works together effectively and efficiently to provide a great student experience. 

I am a retired teacher for the Branch Intermediate School District for 31 years. I started working at the BACC's Electronics program, then moved back and forth between the BACC and various middle schools, and ultimately ended up at the Waldren Center and the Dorthy Legg Learning Center where I spent the remaining years.

During the time in education, I also worked for the Branch County Sheriff's Office for 16 years. I was a Marine Deputy for the Sheriff's office and enjoyed my summers keeping boaters and other users of the lakes safe and offering help in times of need.

I now work for Blair's School of Driving. This is my 5th year working as a driving instructor. I went to a segment 2 class with a friend of mine who then tried to get me to become a driving instructor. At that time, I did not have time to take on another job. However, I did remember what he told the class about the parking portion of the final drive test they would be required to pass and that stuck with me. Since then, I have assisted many young adults and adults as well helping them obtain their driver's license and path to independance. 

As one might speculate from my work history, I enjoy helping people. I enjoy helping people with their hopes and dreams. Wheather it was a career they wanted or being stranded on the lake, I wanted to help. I wanted to help people beocme better and to succeed in whatever they wanted to do. I can continue to do that through driver's education. Everyone needs their driver's license to succeed in order to open doors to their future. Coaching young adults to earn their driver's license is their first real major goal and it brings me peace and happiness. I also enjoy watching young driver's struggle in the beginning and then grow their skills to a point where they are a smooth, safe, and confident driver.
